I don't mean to sound flabbergasted each time, but I've been doing this for 70 days... wow.
Good fun at work tonight, nice people for the most part and a lady with an extra dose of crazy right at the end of the night. Good times.
I go into my weekend off with the usual concerns. Can I keep this up on a non scheduled schedule. Feels funny to be wondering about this seventy days in... you'd think I'd have a handle on it by now. Unstructured days will prob'ly always pose a challenge. I think I'll get up tomorrow and do a grocery shop so I can have lots of healthy, yummy things around. Tried steel cut oats this morning. Brown sugar and cinnamon certainly helped the effort, but I think I need some raisins. If you have any steel cut miracles please pass them along.
Off to bed to rest up for a couple of full days... maybe just full of doin' nothin'... I'll keep ya posted.
Never heard of steel cut oats. I got rid of sugar in my cereal by putting it on top of fruit. I chop up an orange, then whole grain rye, raw pumpkin seeds, All Bran (processed, I know, but it's nice and crunchy), raisins, shelled hemp seeds, large whole grain oats. Top with flax seed oil and soy milk. It's actually quite tasty. To be fair, the soy milk has added sugar, though less than most. In reality I replaced adding sugar with fruit sugars from the orange and raisins, but that works for me.
ReplyDeleteI buy bags of frozen fruit. I throw some in and cook it with the oats. Delish. I also often chop some ginger and add it. I'm not eating refined sugar so I too use fruit. Also, some cinnamon and nutmeg is yummy. Another alternative to brown sugar is maple syrup. Chopped walnuts, cinnamon and maple syrup is excellent.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll do fine through your unscheduled time.
