Welcome to math day. Now I think we all understand this might be a bit painful but just remember numbers are our friend.
Ninety days... in a row... holy crap !! So I figure that's more or less 3 months (see - the math has started). If we check the ticker it says 17 lbs lost. OK... that's 5.6 lbs per month. Or 1.4 lbs per week. Hold on, I'm getting a bit confused *breaths into paper bag*... alright, I think this means I'm exactly on track to finish the Project but I'm not completely sure. I have 140 days left which is 20 weeks. 20 x 1.4 = 28 (plus 17 equals 45) Oops... and just like that *finger snap* math is not my friend anymore :(
Ahhh, nothing to worry about. First of all I've never completely trusted math. We had a falling out in the 9th grade and our relationship never fully recovered. More to the point, if this was ever really about the "final number" that's pretty much gone away. Will I be disappointed if I don't lose 50 lbs by my 50th? Sure, a bit, but the numbers fall by the wayside when compared to the lessons (blessings) I've gotten and continue to get every day.

day eightynine
Stellar day... thank you Momma Nature, I needed that :)
Started out the day with a terrific lunch at the Bangkok Spoon. I love going to a place where the eating choices are pretty easy. That said... did I have their delectable veggie spring rolls? Oh yesssss I certainly did. I am so in love with the mango salad that I don't have a large enough vocabulary to express it. With apologies to Woody Allen: I lurve it. (Trust me youngsters - that reference is killer). The best part of lunch you ask? A leisurely gabfest with friend Heather... so fun. Afterwards we got coffee to go from Detour Roasters and if you haven't seen them make coffee yet it's worth the trip.
Now we are at the shopping portion of the program. I don't have ANY money but my jeans are starting to look like (in the words of friend Sandy) poopy diapers. I got to Limeridge *shudder* and thought NO... I will not step foot in a plus sized store. I have found there is a new trope to go along with the death and taxes thing regarding a dead cert... jeans are sooooo annoying to try on. I went for the size I thought would fit me and they were too big. I went a size smaller and they just weren't... right. And need I mention that the ones that fit best were these fabbo levis that came in at just under $100. Nooooo, Cathy don't pay no hunnert dollars for no pair of jeans.
Anyhoo... great day and I hope y'all grabbed some of it :)

day eightyeighty
Now that's how I like a close shift to go. Crazy busy dinner (excuse me folks you all know it's TUESDAY right?), followed by getting great swaths of paperwork done (sayonara HST and WSIB) and all the guests out by 130. SWEET:)
I'm feeling pretty pumped about life right now. I know everything is cyclical but I'm hoping I can hang onto this feeling for quite awhile. April has turned out to be a fairly sad and introspective month for me. I 've thought of my dad often during this journey and I know he'd be proud of what I'm accomplishing. I'm hoping that this new direction of my life will let me skirt through the next month relatively unscathed. I don't mind so much the missing of him but I don't want it to wipe me out like it has in the past. But I'm not gonna lie: gosh I miss him.
Onwards and upwards my friends (or downwards for me really :) )

day eightyseven
Stunner of a day. Got my exercise outside today by walking Vito to the dog park. You really haven't lived until you've seen an uncoordinated chocolate lab try to roll around in the snow which is unfortunately on the side of a hill that he uncontrollably careens down sideways. He is an entertaining fellow :)
Not much on my mind tonight. I have an odd week ahead of me that involves opens and closes but hopefully won't present too many challenges food and exercise-wise.
Got some terrific news tonight that one of the gals on the journey has broken the all important 25 lb mark. Kudos to you Jenn plus a big woot woot ! That little piece of news is not only tremendous for you but also serves to bolster my efforts. I'm comin' up right behind ya sista :)

day eightysix
Today I'm thinkin' about "personal bests". This train of thought was supplied by friend Casey who ran the Around the Bay 5K and beat her previous personal best time. Serious woot, woot for you kiddo :)
This whole Project feels like one big beat my personal best everyday. I have an end goal quite obviously but it's those little PB's along the way that are going to get me there. Am I hitting my workout a little harder than I did yesterday? Can I come up with a new recipe to get the healthy in me? The shirt that didn't fit two months ago... all little PB's that spur me on.
I know that a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step but there needs to be a heck of alot of single steps after that first one. The PB's are benchmarks along the way that make the 3,427th step possible.
Have a great week y'all

day eightyfive
Easter needs to come and go quickly this year. If I have to walk into a store and see one more damn Cadbury's Cream Egg I might snap. How I love the small gooey eggness of the Cadbury Cream Egg. The only thing that consoles me currently is the fact that they're so SMALL anymore. *sigh* perhaps that will be my next treat day :)
More super fun finds at the grocery store tonight. I'm apparently all about the smoothies right now and my big, unsightly Oster just wasn't cutting it. I was seriously considering the merits of the Magic Bullet when I went into Fortino's tonight and their wee 2 speed blenders were on sale for twenty bucks. Now there's almost nothin' I won't buy for twenty bucks! Next I'm going back for the (you guessed it) twenty buck food processor *hee hee hee*
My beautiful little (I think) tulips poked their heads out from under the snow today... hope they're well. A big shout out to friend Casey who I think is going to shave some serious time off her PB tomorrow at the Around the Bay Road Race. I'm vibin' ya sister !!!

day eightyfour
Checking in early tonight cuz I'm not sure how long I'm going to last. I is tired!! A good tired tho I think. Got up and at it super early this morning, more brain activity at work than usual (damn you Quickbooks) then running around with la pooch. I'm slightly embarrassed that at quarter of eight on a Friday night I'm ready for a hot bath and bed with one of my new books. Ahhhh, the ceaseless whirl that is my life :)
Truthfully, I got nothing... I was just kinda ponderin' how lucky I am. I think this hurtling toward 50 business has me taking all kinds of stock. Not just my weight and health but the overall quality of my life. It's pretty good and I'm grateful that I see that. The picyune details that wash over me daily can sometimes obscure the big picture but I gotta tell you... my big picture is pretty sweet :)
Keep on keepin' on ...
